Safety Tips for Golf Cart Owners and Drivers

by 10L0LGCPA 19 Oct 2022 0 Comments

One of the most important safety golf cart accessories an owner or driver can have is a golf cart seat belt. While it may seem like a minor detail, using a seat belt can prevent serious injuries in the event of a collision. Here are a few tips to ensure your safety while driving with a golf cart:

-Always install and use a properly fitted seat belt. Be sure to adjust the belt snugly to fit your body size and shape. Most golf carts come with adjustable belts, so be sure to use them.

-Keep children restrained in a child safety seat when driving with a golf cart. A properly restrained child will reduce their exposure to injury in the event of a collision.

-Make sure you know how to operate your golf cart safely. Familiarize yourself with all of the features of your vehicle and use them as needed to stay safe on the road. When in doubt, take your golf cart for a test drive to get used to the controls and make sure you know where everything is.

Not only do you need to be safe on the road, but you also need to ensure that your golf cart is well maintained. Whether it is because of bad weather or just plain negligence, it happens regularly that a golf cart gets damaged when it got involved in an accident or hit another object. When this happens, it could be very expensive to repair or replace the broken parts and equipment. To prevent this from happening in the first place, you and your staff should always conduct routine maintenance checks before going out on the roads with your cart.
